Enrolment management plan

WoodLinks State School is an enrolment managed school with a maximum capacity of 950 students. Click the link in the right margin to view the Enrolment Management Plan.

Enrolment policy

All students who live within the local catchment area and are eligible for enrolment in the educational program offered by the school may apply for enrolment at the school.

Enrolment of students from outside the local catchment area will be available only if capacity exists.

The school's Enrolment Management Plan does not replace other departmental policy; for example Safe, Supportive and Disciplined School Environment, nor does it override subsequent determinations regarding school capacity.

Enrolment criteria

Students who reside outside the school's local catchment boundary who apply for enrolment at the school will only be considered based on the following criteria and order of priority:

  • Siblings of students already enrolled.
  • Children and young people who are subject to child protection orders that grant guardianship or custody to the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Child Safety.
  • Students whose parent or legal guardian is employed by the school.
  • Students who reside outside the catchment area and who officially leave the school will be considered for re-admission in accordance with the enrolment criteria.
  • Students who reside outside the catchment area.
Student Resource Scheme

This letter contains important information about the 2025 Student Resource Scheme (SRS) including how the scheme operates and the annual participation fee.

The Queensland Government supports students' education by providing funding for:

  • Instruction, e.g. teachers
  • Facilities, e.g. buildings, amenities, furniture
  • Administration, e.g. staffing and resources to administer the operations of the school.

Funding does not extend to individual student resources such as textbooks, equipment for personal use, and items used/consumed by the student in the classroom. Supply of these items is the responsibility of parents.

To provide parents with a cost-effective alternative to purchasing textbooks and/or resources elsewhere, WoodLinks State School operates an SRS for 2025.

The scheme ensures that students have the resources required for them to engage with the curriculum for their education, and saves parents time and money in sourcing the prescribed materials elsewhere. Savings are gained through the school's bulk purchasing practices and hiring arrangements. The scheme is not used to raise funds for other purposes, and revenue collected through the scheme is applied only to the resources and operation of the scheme. The financial impact on parents and whether the school can absorb any of the cost has been considered before determining the SRS fee.
